Fuel Up to Play 60 is the nation’s largest school wellness program founded by National Dairy Council and the NFL, in collaboration with USDA, that empowers students – with the support of adult champions – to take the lead in making small, sustainable wellness improvements in their schools and communities. It encourages students to be active for at least 60 minutes per day and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Hudson Elementary has received grants that have paid for new playground equipment, a field trip to a local dairy farm, smoothies using ingredients from dairy farms, flag-football equipment, in-class movement equipment, pedometer challenges, motivational speakers, fruit and vegetable taste testing and incentives for healthy eating. Arieana Todd and Dayrin Estrella were accepted to attend the National Youth Summit the summer of 2016. Daveon Patton, Gage Parker and Owen Reininger were accepted to attend the Summit in 2017 and Daveon was selected as the Colorado State Ambassador. Addison Forbes, Marcello Rossi, Tessa Hebert, and Toby Blake were accepted to attend the Summit in 2018 and Toby was selected as the Colorado State Ambassador. Kate Holman and Trinity Todd attended the Summit in 2019 and Kate was selected as the State Ambassador.

We have been a touchdown school every year we have run the program, since 2016, meaning we meet all our goals of the program. The Hudson Ambassadors attend the touchdown celebration at Mile High Stadium in Denver in the spring. Parents can sign their students up using the above link (our team is: ‘Healthy Hudson Huskies’) or to get more information.
